erased recurrence still producing alert

I had set up a recurring alert in my Outlook calendar that also alerted (2)
other people. Once the task was completed, I deleted the recurrence. However
the other people are still getting the alerts every week. How do I disable
it? I am unable to go back and recover the original alert.

Help!!
 
Explain in more detail please.

Is this a task which you assigned? Is it a meeting request?

I believe I set it up as a meeting and invited attendees. To be perfectly
honest, I dont remember. I normally set up alerts for myself to pop up. This
one was the same only I added two people's emails. They are still getting
alerts and I have no idea how this is happening.
 
Then unfortuantely, neither will we.
