I just bought and installed Ofiice XP. I can't seem to
find the equation editor. Does it come with the software?
Is there somewhere I can download it from?
Thanks.

G'Day K,

The equation editor is usually called from within an Office Program:
Insert > Object > Microsoft Equation 3.0

Equation Editor will run as a separate Program - create a shortcut to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files
\Microsoft Shared\Equation\EQNEDT.EXE
but you will not be able to 'Print' or 'Save' the object.

It is a cut down version of MathType by Design Science - see:
http://www.mathtype.com/en/products/ee/
You can 'upgrade' to MathType (if you need) - it has considerable
added functionality that includes 'Print' and 'Save'.

The Equation Editor is not installed by default (in a Typical install) in
any version of Word/Office. To install it, go to Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs, select Microsoft Office, and click the Change button. In the first
page, select "Add or Remove Features." On the next page, expand "Office
Tools." Select Equation Editor and set it to "Run from My Computer." Click
the Update button, and insert the Office CD when prompted.
