equation editor

I click on the link to download equation editor and it takes me to an assitance link about editing an equation. Do I have the wrong link?

Yes, you probably do. You don't "download" the equation editor from the Web,
you install it from the Office CD by using the setup program. It isn't
selected by the ordinary "Typical" installation -- to be able to select it
during the original setup, you have to choose the "Custom" installation.

Once Office is already installed, the process is a little different. Go to
the Windows Control Panel, open the Add/Remove Programs icon, select Office,
and click the Change button. Click the item "Add or Remove Features" (this
might be labeled differently in various versions of Office). Expand the
Office Tools icon, and set Equation Editor to "run from my computer". Click
the Update button. You may need to insert the Office CD.
