Hi,

Whenever I type a minus sign/hyphen in the equation editor in Powerpoint I
get a blank space. What can I do to correct this?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

The only equation editor in PPT 2007 is "Microsoft Equation 3.0", so I assume
that's what you're using.

Critical to the correct presentation of equations with the equation editor
is a font called MT Extra. Next most important is the Symbol font. If either
of these fonts is missing or corrupted, your equations won't look right.
Easiest way to reinstall these fonts is to get them from another computer --
assuming you have more than one, or can get them from a friend. Look for them
in C:\Windows\fonts.

To install them onto your computer, you'll first need to remove the old
ones, if they're there. If PPT is running, close it, then drag the new fonts
into your fonts folder and try equation editor again. Another thing you can
do is reinstall Office, but that'll take a lot longer than the first method.

Let us know if that helps.
