I also noticed one of the major online electronic retailers is now offering
an "instant rebate" of $50. With 3 day shipping included, that gets you
prices of around $485 for the V700 and $705 for the $750. There is at least
one other online retailer that is offering similar prices without any
rebate. Maybe this will be the new standard price range going forward.
These have been out for 8 months, so I guess they can now be considered
"old" technology
I am guessing they are trying to realign pricing before
the new Microtek hits the market. It is supposed to have a suggested retail
price of $699, so the street price should be even lower. It will be
interesting to see if Microtek can hit their scheduled release date
(remember how long it took for the i900 to actually reach the store
shelves?).
