When I try to scan I get a message that says "download supported twain
driver". It has worked perfectly before. I uninstalled the software and
reinstalled it, but it still gives me the same error message. I have
searched Epson support and the manual for help with no luck. If anyone has
any idea what the problem could be I would highly appreciate it.

You did not give enough information to give an answer.

If you are using Windows XP, there are a lot of problems with scanners.
Different problems have different solutions.

By all means, be sure that you have run Windows Update.

If you are using a Mac, I have no idea what to do.

In OS 9, delete preferences. In OS X, Repair Permissions.

Otherwise my CX3200 works perfectly in Mac OSX 10.3.4.

You could also try VueScan, that does work this machine.

Driver downloads for Epson CX3200.

Use all of the drivers for Windows ME from the above. They are the latest
from Epson.

I do not know the cause, but if you have un-installed and re-installed the
scanner software, you may have to search the register for any entries for
the scanner.

un-install the scanner software then Run>regedit and search for "Epson" or
"CX3200" or "image".

Backup the entries you find and delete them. Reboot computer.
Install the scanner (all in one) software to see it that fixed it.

It is good that you have run Windows update, that keeps your software up to
date and solves security problems. It however does not solve TWAIN driver
problems.

Installing the software is not helping here, you have to manage the
device.
So check Device Manager and ensure that the device is installed. No
installation, no driver...
