If this is not the correct Group to post this enquiry, I'm sorry and
would appreciate guidance as to which one it should be.

I have followed the messages in this Group for two years or so and I
have just been given a used Epson Stylus Colour 640 with half full
cartridges. However, I will be using this very infrequently for colour
as I already use a monochrome OKI for regular document printing.

In view of the possibility of jets blocking, what do I need to do to
ensure that this Epson stays serviceable for as long as possible.

Suggestions would be very welcome.

Look for the most recent Arthur Entlich post, email him, and ask him to send
you his Epson head cleaning manual. Excellent on maintenance of Epson
printers.

There is a high probability with Epson printers when used infrequently.
The chances are greater with aftermarket ink.

<------------------------------------------------------>

Based on my daily use of after market ink carts in my Epson, HP & Canon
printers I find that they perform just as well as any oem ink carts I
have ever used.
This is my personal use experience covering approxiametly 10 yrs of
continual use.
What is your personal use experience with after market ink/carts?
Please answer.

CAUTION: THE ABOVE IS A BAIT POST BY THE TROLL MEASEKITE!!!!!!

This awful "sucker post" by Measekite, again masquerading as the non-
existant (never existed) Frank, is so silly it stinks OEM all the way
back to Measekite. The supposed "Frank" had he existed would have no
interest in a question he already "knew" the answer to. He said he's
used aftermarket inks for 10 years with "many" printers with no
problems. Why would he care about other people's experiences after
using the product for 10 years!!! Only someone who's never used OEM inks
would ask such a novice question. And that novice is Measekite. Dying to
know how good aftermarket inks are but scared shitless to try any.

State your personal use experience or else shut up! Oh, you say you
don't have any personal use experience regarding after market inks?
Then shut up.

You still can't deal with the truth can you. Your lies have caught up
with you. You know nothing about ink, printers the truth or how to
properly get along in society.
Go some where else and leave this ng never to return.
