My printer has finally given up the ghost and it appears unlikely that
I can still buy the same parallel port model. Now I am stuck with this
kind of printer as I have spent a load of money stocking up with
cartridges for my printer. Can anyone suggest another parallel port
Epson that uses the same cartridges please?

The Colour 480 TO13401 and TO14401 are equivalent to the JetTec 5423 and
5433 cartridges which I distribute. Primarily they are unchipped cartridges
used in the 580 and C20 / C40. Still one of the top sellers: UNCHIPPED: so,
they may not be of great significance to Epson chips-for-everything culture.

I have some £30 worth of cartridges which I don't want to waste so has
any one some idea of how much it would cost to have my cheapo printer
renovated and how do I go about it please?

You've just said that you printer "has finally given up the ghost",
it would cost more than the cost of a C40 to have your old one
repaired. Tony has just given you all the above information re.
printers that use the same cartridges, so why not use his advice and
buy yourself a new C40, not sure if the current C42 uses the same
cartridges though.

Nothing is simple with Epson is the golden rule. The C42UX C44 uses a JetTec
7313 (Black) and 7323 (Colour) chipped cartridges, and still reigns as the
best seller: maybe that is a recomend from satisfied users ?
