ASSUMPTION (not stated as fact, but could be):
The Epson Stylus Color 600 does not actually check the pressure of the
ink cart. to determine if it is full or not, rather it counts pages to
estimate whether it should be out of ink or not.
WHAT I DID TO MESS THINGS UP:
I changed an ink cart. before it indicated that it was empty because
cleaning the heads several times did not clear up a printing problem I
had. The cart. was defective and after replacing it, the printing
cleared up magnificently. Only a week later, the printer indicated I
was out of black ink when CLEARLY, I had plenty left based on how many
pages I had printed in that week.
HERE IS MY QUESTION: Is there a way to tell the printer "Hey, dummy,
there is plenty of ink left!" If it is counting pages, then there
could be a way for me to roll the page count back, right? Maybe a DOS
command? Maybe a Windows utility?
