I've found that if I have more than about 20-25 sheets in the hopper, it
just messes about all day without actually pulling the paper through. If I
pull some sheets out, off it goes. This can't be right !

Any ideas please ?

Thanks

Do you have the paper thickness lever in the right place?

Thanks for the reply. If you mean the lever at the right hand side then yes
thanks, it's set to sheet paper (not envelopes).

My 785epx does a similar thing. You can put nearly 50 sheets in the hopper,
and it will work. If you print those same sheets as double sided, the second
side missfeeds like crazy. You have to watch each page to make sure that only
1 paper gets put through the printer at a time. It's a real pain. You could
try cleaning the rubber parts that are used to feed the paper. Just used
something like isopropyl alcohol and let it dry before use.

I've got about 120 sheets in my C82 feeder right now, and it feeds just
fine. There's a paper capacity indicator on the left-hand paper feeder
guide, and as long as the stack thickness doesn't exceed this, it should
feed OK.

What weight is the paper are you using? 20-lb is typical.

Not sure. It doesn't say on the packet. It's just says copier/laser/inkjet
paper.

It's only done a few tens of pages. It's only about a month old so it
shouldn't be dirty.
