One month ago I bought an Epson Stylus C67

I was told that it will work o.k. even if any colour cartridge run
out
of ink.

well...that is is not true... We NEVER USED the ink colours but
their levels were decreasing while the black ink was really used.

Today this printer decided not to print because there was not blue
ink...( we never used it ). Can I ask for some help in order to know
any similar experience and/or any suggestion to solve this matter ?

My apologies because english is not my native language.

Tks in advance.

The printer uses color ink each time you turn it on in order to run
cleaning cycles. Epsons are known to use a rather large amount of ink
to do this, so eventually you will have to buy new color ink
cartridges, even if you don't use the colors to print with. Also, if
you print any color images in black and white (as greyscale), the
printer uses the color tanks to create the greyscale.

If you leave the printer on all the time, it won't clean as often (it
will still run cleaning cycles once in awhile), but since you have a C
series printer that uses Durabrite ink which can clog if not used
often, you don't want to do this. It's better to let the printer run
the self-cleaning than to have it clog up.

All consumer Epson printers currently made have one purge vacuum, pump
internally. Each time the printer is turned on after a certain period
of time, or when a cartridge is changed, all the heads are cleaned with
this vacuum pump, so even if you are only using black ink, all the
colors are being drained away slowly during these cleaning cycles.

Also, Epson printer cannot be run with one or more missing or empty
cartridges, as the heads will dry out and they are very diffiuclt to
unclog especially with the Durabrinte inks (the C and CX series printers).
