Epson Stylus C62

Have just purchased a new computer which has windows xp home edition installed, however I cannot print documents to the printer

Keeps telling me there is a connection problem, but the printer still works on my old windows programme

When I add printers through control panel, there is no epson c62 listed and the driver cd I have doesn't always work

Is this printer not compatible with windows xp home edition

Any help would be great as I could be here for days trying to work it out.
