Epson Stylus C44 Problem

I have a problem with the above printer

It installs fine on my PC - W98, installs drivers , all is OK

On my Dad's PC, in the next room, is also W98, but on his machine the paper
goes rampant, making 3 pages from a 1 page document, the print is distorted,
and has lines through it

The printers are not networked, I should add, , i.e. I take the printer into
my room, and test it out there, it works, we take out of my room, and into
my Dad's room, and once hooked up to his Pc, the Printer doesn't work
properly, it just prints out rubbish

We've installed and uninstalled the Printer Drivers to destruction, over the
last week, all to no avail, it works OK on my PC, but on my Dad's PC it just
doesn't want to know.

The Printer is USB, so my thought is that there maybe a problem with my
Dad's USB ports? All drivers are up to date, we've got the CD, and I've even
been to the Epson website to get the latest driver(s), same story, on my PC
the Printer works fine, on my Dad's, it doesn't

I find it odd that given we both run W98, both use the same Printer
Drivers, the same printer, that it works on my PC, but doesn't on Dad's.

His is a newer install of W98, (i.e. installed about a year ago). mine is
slightly older, 2 to 3 years older infact.

I find it really odd that the printer works on my PC , but not on Dad's,
especially as his is a newer install of W98.

Can there be anything on his pc that isn't working properly, I went into
device manager, and didn't see any conflicts at all, nothing looked
suspicious infact

Can anyone suggest what to do next?

Thank you

Have you tried anything else in the USB port? This would prove if the port is
working (at least for that device). Are you using the same test print? Try
creating something on your machine in, say, Word and saving it to a floppy.
Print it from your machine and then try it from your dads using the floppy.
Make sure all connections are fully 'home' on the mother board also.
Good luck. Dave
