I need to scan 60 high quality 8x10 B&W prints - and the client is willing
to buy a decent scanner for me to do the job (it'll be my payment).

We do Not need a transparency adapter.

Which current Epson model has:
1. a very good D-Max
2. a good optical resolution
3. good scanning software included
4. USB connection

thank you

Although B&W they have 'tone' so the scans will be RGB>

Hi

/imho mode on :-)

Almost any scanner in the market has usb, dmax is not that important
regarding prints, nor is the optical resolution, as prints are usually
made at 300dpi, and the scannig software can be purchased separately.

So, i think an epson 4180 would be great, but even a 2480 would do the
job nicely. Maybe the important part is post processing.

/imho off
regards.

You might want to consider one of the newer models that has digital ICE
that works with prints. Then if any of your originals have dust or
scratches on them you can attempt to correct in the scan. I think
one such is the Epson 4990.
