I've had this printer for 15/16 months, and the LCD screen has just gobe
blank. A quick search on the internet suggets this is acommon fault. Anyone
with experience of this and of tackling Epson successfull?
Sounds like the light used for the backlit screen has simply burnt
out. I'm not sure if it's repairable on your own and the part doesn't
look removable or user-servicable on my R340. Someone else on this
group might know.
Epson is the worst company I've ever worked with as far as warranty
service. Since you're out of the warranty period, I wouldn't even
waste the money on the long distance phone call. Try their e-mail
support first. The most they would probably do is tell you where to
bring it or to ship it in order to pay to have it fixed.
Looking back just this past /week/ there's even /more/ complaints
about Epson than ever before, and not just because of clogging. It
seems like this company is going in a very bad direction.
