Can anyone help me? I have an Epson R300 (roughly 18 months old). I
don't use it a lot but a month or so back it finally ran out of ink.
I replaced all 6 cartridges with Print-Rite ones and (I think) it was
OK after that. Then it wasn't. All I got were blank pages. I removed
and reinserted the cartidges. I ran the head and nozzle cleaning
thing. I printed a test pattern but couldn't see more than a tiny
smudge of ink...

Suggestions?

Thanks

Drop Art a E-mail requesting his cleaning instructions, which he wil
provide free of charge, qouting the model and problem. send to-

removing the brackets and leaving no spaces, you'll find his keyboar
tappings up and down these pages under Arthur Entlich

One little thing you can do is look for a clear plastic pipe under th
docking bay, switch on or do a cleaning cycle and you should see th
ink 'gurgling' through it... if not, then thats the problem the pip
has simply come adrift from where the unit docks and you'll get n
cleaning action.

Thank you very much, Davy - I'll try both options.(if I can find the
docking bay and pipe!...)

[ you mean, a suggestion other than the obvious 'use oem carts'? :) ]

Or the other obvious suggestion - throw it away.

some refill kits come with a cleaning solution. if not it wouldn't
hurt to get just the cleaning kit or solution. try using a q-tip to
clean the heads and anything else that look like it might have ink on
the cartragages. sometimes the heads (where the ink comes out) dry up.
if the cartrage has the printing head on it then clean that. plus it
wouldn't hurt to clean the contacts as well. if there's ink on them
you printer can't make the conection. if not then clean the one in
the printer. might have to hold the q-tip on for a bit to let it
soften the any dried ink.

THAT IS YOUR PROGBLEM. THIS GENERIC INK SOURCE WAS ONE THAT WAS
SPEIFICALLY MENTIONED IN A PCWORLD ARTICLE THAT CLOGGED UP THEIR
PRINTERS SO BAD THEY COULD NOT EVEN COMPETE THEIR TESTING.
YES. SEND YOUR PRINTER TO EPSON FOR CLEANING AND THEN USE ONLY EPSON
INK. I AM SURE THEY CAN PROBABLY DO IT FOR UNDER $100
