Epson R300 Missing print (clogged head)

If you have ever used generic ink in your printer than that is the
reason why you are having problems. You can probably buy a new version
of that printer or for sure (on sale) a new Canon IP4300 (better) for a
little more than the price of a full set of carts.

I suggest against it for several reasons.

1) they suggest using a syringe and pushing the fluid through the heads.
This can damage the heads by delaminating them. It is the last resort
to cleaning the heads.

2) Although I don't know what the liquid they are using is, the formula
I suggest is a mixture of water, isopropyl alcohol, ammonia and glycol.
This is usually found in window cleaner, but in England they often do
not use the ammonia. I have been told Mr. Muscle brand window cleaner
is similar to our window cleaner (Windex with ammonia).

If you'd prefer the details on how to clean your Epson's printer head, I
have a manual I can email you, at no cost.

Cleaning carts are available for this model, in the UK only £3 each, they
will clear most blocks. I would never force liquid through the heads as
discribed in the web pages. Once clean again using carts and printing purge
sheets do a nozzel test every other day as Epsons seem very prone to head
blocks even with OEM inks. If you are getting complete lines missing use the
carts by cleaning twice at a time then leave an hour or two and repeat until
clean. You will see pieces of form along the bed of the printer, place
kitchen towel soaked in Windolean clear, this will draw most of the dumped
ink from the head, place another piece of towel on the head resting pad on
the right side of the printer. After all this house keeping you may wish to
fit a waste bottle to catch ink discharged into the waste pads. My R300
works as well as the day it was installed from new by using the above.....
Hope this helps.

Cheers for that,Can u advise as to where you get these cleaning carts from?

When using an R300 with Epson ink you should not have any head clogging problems.  None of the people I know have had any serious head clogging problems but they have always used Epson ink.  Occasionally the printer does a head cleaning.
