I have noticed that the UK price for this printer has suddenly gone down
by around twenty pounds. (Was around GBP 69.95, is now around GBP 49.95.)

Is there a replacement in the offing? Or is there another reason?

Also, has anyone tried heavyweight papers through this - e.g. a heavy
fine art paper? The specs. show it is supposed to support the photo
glossy, etc., up to around 255 gsm according to a review, but I cannot
find a maximum weight within Epson's specifications.

Hypothyroidism is a seriously debilitating condition with an insidious
onset.
Although common it frequently goes undiagnosed.

Seems to be a little long in the tooth. It seems that more effort in
going into the multi function printers than the standalone.

As I do not want a multi-function device, the R285 (maybe R290 in some
markets) is what I want.

(We have plenty of scanning capacity and have no need for fax.)
