I am trying to decide between these two printers. Will be using mainly to
print on CD/DVD's.
I think the HP is a new model.

Thanks

Does the HP offer CD/DVD printing (direct on the printable disk?) What
country are you living in. I was under the impression Epson owned the
licensing rights to that feature in North America. I believe Epson and
Canon share it in Europe. Not sure about elsewhere.

I apologize for questioning the HP printer having CD and DVD direct
printing ability. I just Googled and see they are releasing this
product with that ability. I would suggest, since this feature is new
to HP, that you read the reviews once the printer is in regular use to
make sure it works well with disk media before buying one, since this
feature is critical to your purchase.

The direct printing mechanism is a bit complex and the ink type for this
use needs to be well formulated for that use.

Whenever a new design comes out, I try to wait and see how first
adopters find it before laying down my cash.

No apology needed. I just found this printer at Staples last week. I live
in the Chicago area. I agree with you about waiting to see how it works. I
just picked up an Epson R220 at Sam's for $70.00. They were closing them
out. That's almost the price of the ink cartridges. Anyway if I'm not
happy with it, they will take it back.
