I've printed a few CDs and DVDs with my R220. The disc printable surface is
a flat white. When printing a solid background on the disc I get a deeper
pattern in the middle 1/3d of the disc. Is there any way to fix this?

No reply so I'll try and prop your post up

Sounds like banding, wonder if you get the same effect printing
picture could you export the design and then compare on a differen
surface, sounds like a 'reasonable idea' to me

Could be the ink, drying time etc, pretty sure someone in the NG wil
give you a more useful answer

Are you using *inkjet* printable CD's? Simply being white surface doesn't
mean they are suitable for inkjet printing.

Yes, they are inkjet printable. I was trying to specify that they were not
the glossier surface inkjet printables.

Thanks for the suggestion, Davy. The printing on regular paper seems normal,
just when I put the disk carrier in.

Gotta be looking at either the surface, dodgy ink which no doubt ca
happen, could suggest to try ink from a different source or batch

Or maybe try whatever disc's that are recomended , if the DVD and CD
are
of same manufacturer a good bet is to try another brand

I wonder if its to do with the height/molding of the tray, think thes
ideas are a little way off but one never knows

Having said all that it couldn't be anything in the printer drive
setting could it

If the photos are ok certainly rules the print head out
