I recently changed printers from the Epson Photo Stylus 1270 and performed the
program uninstall, along with subsequent select folder deletions.

Since then, however, each time I log on to my computer I receive a "Problem
with Shortcut" error dialog box that reads as follows:

"The item 'E_SRCV03.EXE' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or
moved. The nearest match, based on size, date, and type, is
'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ACTMOVIE.EXE'. Do you want this shortcut to point to this
item?"

A Yes, No selection follows.

At this juncture I simply choose "No," until I can more clearly ascertain the
problem.

Can anyone offer any explanations and or suggestions?

Thank you

Dig into win.ini and system.ini files and look for 'E_SRCV03.EXE' entry
there. Just delete the whole line that contain that entry
Look for the same in your registry and delete it too.

Which version of Windows?

Thank you Sergey,

I opened win.ini and system.ini and performed searches that found no reference
to 'E_SRCV03.EXE'.

Win.ini did, however, have a couple of lines that referred to the Epson Stylus
Photo 1270 near the bottom of the file. Upon deleting said lines, however, the
error dialog box in question still appeared at log on.

Within regedit.exe I did locate 'E_SRCV03.EXE' under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >
SOFTWARE > EPSON, and deleted the accompanying folder. Again, however, the
error dialog box in question still appeared at log on.

In addition to the aforementioned, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > EPSON
there were three other folders as follows: 9XPrinterDriver, EBAPIInfo, and
EBPrinter. There was a reference to the Epson Stylus Photo 1270 under the
folder 9XPrinterDriver. Can this folder be deleted, and or the entire EPSON
folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE?

Thanks again for the assistance.

Delete _all_ references to Epson. You can delete all files
installed by the Epson driver, too - if you know what and
where they are.

It would be nice if "uninstall" did all this house keeping,
wouldn't it? It does - in non-Windows systems. So why can't
Microsoft build a better product?

Thank you to all that have assisted me in researching this problem.

The file in question, 'E_SRCV03.EXE' never appeared in any "Find >
Files/Folders" search.

I was finally, however, able to locate a reference to it within the
"Properties" of a file called EPSON Status Monitor 3 Environment Check.lnk. It
resided in C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp.

Thanks again
