Epson Photo 895 head will not be aligned after each start up

Hi everybody,
after having heard for a long time strange noises from my epson 895
during the cleaning of the head, like the printer couldn't recognize
the right position and forced towards the end of the carriage, finally
I have to aligh the head each time I switch on the printer to let it
work fine. Does anybody know a method to solve this problem? May I
throw it in the basket, or is there the possibility to use my stock of
cartridges I have recklessly bought?
