Hi All,
I have managed to run an Epson 750 Photo for around 5 years now, changing the
print head once early on in its life.
It has now started to get a little messy when printing using Black only for
documents etc,the small grey paper feed rollers are picking up tiny ink
droplets which seem to be flung out from around the lower edge of the ink
container underside. It just seems that there is a little too much black ink
now around to print more than a few document copies before the excess ink
droplets start marking the documents with tiny tram-lines.Could it be the
felt wicks are saturated with ink and are not absorbing well enough when the
cart passes over them as it does in its print cycle or is it maybe a sign
that the head is on its way out and it is letting more ink pass through than
it needs. The document quality is very sharp and crisp even on 360dpi.I have
played with all the settings like microweave, halftoning etc but with
limited success. The roller furthest away from the the ink cart always seems
to mark up the worst.
Thanks.

There are several possible causes for what you are experiencing.

Please email me privately and request my Epson Cleaning Manual. It goes
through the fairly simple process of cleaning under the head of the
printer, cleaning the waste ink station, etc.

I can't guarantee it will fix the problem, as sometimes the tubes come
off under the ink cleaning station, for instance, and the manual doesn't
go into that kind of detail.

If you have reset the ink protection counters several times through
front panel or software, you may have a filled waste ink pad that is
over saturated with ink.

Anyway, the manual is free and it may help you to solve the problems you
are experiencing.
