OK. My Epson Photo 700 finally bit the dust -- for good. Probably a
blessing. Stopped jetting ink completely after long period of no use. I
tried Windex on the pad. No dice. I opened the hood and pulled the head.
What I saw puzzled me. There was a drop of ink almost hanging off the head
in the first pin position under the black head. Almost as if that nozzle was
wider. Blown out. There was also a "ring" circling that nozzle by 2 or 3 mm.
Corrosion I'm guessing. It ran on non-epson inks for some time after the
warantee period ended and had sat idle for some time before my attempted
revival. Could this "bleeder hole" be caused by Windex? Nothing was ever
forced into the head as far as I know. Definately looks damaged in my
opinion. Could something have rubbed it or hit it? The hole looks too
perfect for that. Could it have been popped by suction in the head somehow?
Thx for listening. Thoughts?
