Need scanner to scan b/w text documents.

Noticed PC World sell Epson Perfection V100 - was thinking of getting
it.

Anyone got it and like it?

Thanks, regards, dnw.

No follow up! Does this mean no one has successfully used it or that
people do not like it?

I am thinking of purchasing a replacement for my Scan-IT Pro 4830P which
cannot be driven from Windows XP and am looking at descriptions of the
Epson V100 and the Canon 4400F.

A defect of V100 descriptions is that they do not mention Twain
compatibility and the ability to scan negatives bigger than 35mm
such as those from 120 film. Can anyone reassure me on these two points?

The description of the Canon 4400F also lacks these details.

Any help in deciding between these would be appreciated.

The specs for V100 say:

Transparency Unit
* 35mm Transparency Adapter, 6 negatives/4 slide capacity

I take it means it won't be able to scan negatives bigger
than 35mm. A likely reason is that the backlight isn't
wider than is required for scanning 35mm.
