Are Epson printers compatibile with Linux? I'd like to buy one, but I'm
not sure if it would work correctly

Yes---in general

Linux distros usually have hardware compatibility lists somewhere. there
are also sites on this very topic. I think you can pick up the scent at the
GIMP site

Printer compatibility in Linux varies, depending largely on the
distribution you may use, from one distribution to another. My ESC
480 -- oh, it was such a loyal printer --, for example, was, when it
wasn't dead, not compatible with any release of Red Hat. But Mandrake
had superb support for that very printer.

You should check the hardware compatibility list, found at the
official websites of different distributions, for printer
compatibility, as I did before migrating to Mandrake from Red Hat.
