epson d92 prob

i have a new epson d92 printer with windows xp all went well till i changed ink i then had a prob getting pc to recognize that the cartrages were compat now pc dont recognise printer at all. printer will print a test page (blank) in troubleshooting ink symbal is grayed out i can send a page to printer but that is all that happens with no error messages or anything. i hae tried uninstall and reinstall but to no avail.
please please can anyone help

What make are the cartridges??????

If they are cheap replacements then it could be that the printer has failed to recognise the "chip" that is on them, this is inturn screwing the printer.
 
the cartridges are pro-jet and i bought them at the same time as i bought the printer
 
Are they Epson own cartridges?
As some times using unbranded (ie; not Epson) can cause the printer to not see them!!
