I am considering buying an Epson cx7800. Has anyone had any experience
(good or bad) with this printer? I have looked for reviews but found little
more than p.r. articles.

Not much response from your post, so I'll reply to 'prop it up'

I would personally go for either Canon or HP, have you tired lookin
at various shopping channels, like Cnet and Ciao and look at use

I am unfamiliar with this model. I just looked it up on the Epson site
and it is new. Seems like a nice all-in-one with a higher end scanner,
using 4 color Durabrite pigment inks.

I'm guessing it uses the basics of the C88 printer within it.

Since it is new it may take a while for reviews and views to be formulated.

I'm in the same boat considering buying the cx7800, maybe today. I've
had a great experience with my current epson printer, 785epx. If it
were still available I would buy another one. I've had Canons and HP's,
personally I prefer the Epson's print quality and the fact that you can
get ink cartridges for about $3.50 each from places like abcink.com.
When I was paying $35 a piece for the HP cartridges, I was careful
about what I printed. It's nice not to worry about it.
Good Luck! i'll let you know how I like once I get it.
There are reviews on ZDNET and cNET, they're kinda mixed.

I too am in the same boat. Having looked at HP,Canon's, not too sure. I
did though try out CX7800 at BestBuy, scanning in B/W & Colour seemed
pretty impressive.
For the price all-in-one, mmmmm. Will wait up for more feedback.

Without actually playing with one I couldn't provide a decent comment
but one thing that stood out in previous Epson Multifunction reviews
was that photocopying on the older models (ie: CX6600 and before) was
absolutely horrendous in terms of speed.

That may not be an issue now but it was something that just unticked a
rather large box for me...
