Thanks HankG - blow up diagrams may be useful if I need to do any
dismantling.

- If indeed you have no paper transport issues, you may need to
- relubricate the guides the head carriage rides on. I am not familiar
- with the interior of the CX6600 to know which guides they have used.
- Some use a large highly polished cylindrical bar, and some use some
- angularly bent steel which the head runs along. The cylindrical bar
- should be cleaned with a clean lint free rag or towel and some
- isopropyl alcohol. Then place about two drops of lightweight machine
- oil, like 3in1 or sewing machine oil onto the bar and spread it well.
- Then place one small drop to each side of the head carriage where the
- bushings meat the bar.
Art,
The paper jam scenario is as follows...
Turn on
Head Carriage moves to replace cartridges position
Paper feeders/rollers spin as though trying to check/clear paper path
for 10 seconds.
Head Carriage moves over to left, back to right, over to left and
finally back to right,
Head Carriage settles in the far right position.
All 4 green "options" lights flash continuously AND
Red exclamation mark and the message "Error - Paper Jam" immediately
appear.
I have cleaned the highly polished cylindrical bar as advised with
isopropyl alcohol and sprayed some WD40 on the bushings either side of
the head carriage. I then manually slid the head carriage along the
cylindrical bar a few times to ensure oil was distributed but the
error reoccurs in exactly the same way.
The normal process when the printer starts is ... (I know this because
I have a second one of these printers!!)
Head Carriage moves to replace cartridges position
Paper feeders/rollers spin as though trying to check/clear paper path
for 5 seconds.
Head Carriage moves over to left, back to right,
Head Carriage drifts slowly about 5cms to leftt then
Head Carriage settles in the far right position.
Any further advice?
