I have stupidly removed the clear tape from the bottom of the Ink Cartridges
supplied with my new CX3200 printer/scanner (T041 and T040). I have now
used them in my printer. Will this do any damage to my printer and should
I consider taking them out and replacing them?

My only defence is that I'm an HP convert and used to removing the tape from
the bottom of the cartridges :o(

If you're printing OK, then--by definition--you have no problem. All
the bits of tape are just there for protection in shipping, etc.

Thanks for the replies so far. The reason I asked about this is that I read
somewhere that the tape is used to create a vacuum, and that removing the
tape can introduce air into the print heads which might clog them up. Can
anyone verify or deny this.

Thanks again,
Will

In operation, air is drawn in to replace the ink used. If there is a
vacuum, the ink will not feed.

The tape is to control evaporation, contamination, etc. during
storage.
