What printer does Epson have that is close to the i950 in printing very good
photos?

Most of them, quite honestly.

The ones using Durabrite inks do a poorer job on glossy paper, because
they do not use the black ink, but otherwise pretty much any current
Epson model provides good photographic results.

Thank you, Art.......I have never had anything other than Epsons and am a
bit hesitant about changing now.

I am just looking for a printer with more definition than my 820.

Do you have the latest driver for the 820? It is capable of 5760 dpi which
is plenty. I usually only print at 1440 or 2880 and people love the prints.

I do have the latest driver for the 820....I think what I really need is an
in-house tutor! I shall hang on to my 820 and see if I can improve my
techniques!

I appreciate your response, safetymom, and shall get started today (in an
air conditioned house in So. CA!)

I use both a Canon i950 and an older Epson 870. I can't tell a difference
in output. The Canon is much faster and quieter though.
