Epson C900 toner problem

I am having problems with colour balance on an Epson C900. After wasting
a lot of time trying all the various settings I tried printing strips of
colour across the page (cyan, magenta & yellow). The fist two colours
were fine, with the yellow I found that it was not printing a consistent
colour. On the left side it was hardly printing at all, and full colour
on the right half. The status report is showing the yellow as 3/4 full
and is an Epson original.

I took the cartridge out and gave it a good shaking. On testing the poor
area had moved to a different position, but was still printing good and
bad areas.

I suppose the obvious answer is to replace the cartridge but am
reluctant due to the cost of them. Is there anything I can do to revive
this? Would putting in some new toner powder work?

I would appreciate some advice on sorting this out please.

The fact that the affected area moves when you shake the toner indicates a
toner cartridge problem.
The cartrdige should however last longer than 3/4 full, try talking to the
supplier, they may replace it.

Thanks. It is one I have borrowed since my inkjet has died. They will
get the supplier to replace the cartridge.

First time I have used a colour laser so was not sure if there was
anything else I could do to it.
