Sam I Am said:
I did my first ink replacement of Cyan cartridge on my new epson C84
(I'm using Epson branded cart - not OEM). After 10 cleaning cycles, I
still get a broken line on the nozzle check. What's even more strange
is that the nozzle check pattern on the Cyan is always broken in the
same place. I have never seen this occur after cleaning an Epson. What
can i do to get this dog to work? Is something physically clogged that
I can fix (since it appears in the same place each time.)? Thanks
If it tends to clog in the same place, same colour cartridge, that would
maybe indicate ink starvation (micro-bubbles) in the feeder system. Often
using say Windolene (Windex USA) which is an Ammonia solvent for dye based
inks does help. Epson original cartridges... Ho Ho dodgy business as they
are made all over in sweat shop economies. You probably have Malayan bat
droppings in the mix
Although the 84 uses pigmented inks the solvent
often works on this as well.
If a few drops - left to sit overnight - on the parking pad doesn't shift it
a more drastic solution is to use the old cartridge and refill it with the
Windolene: the instant kitchen wipe down liquids function as well. A few
pages printed with this will clean from within and shift possible encrusted
paper waste or resin deposits.
For instance the JetTec cartridges that I distribute now include a cartridge
flush and head cleaner for free with each ink refill pack. I don't suppose
Epson would want to do that to avoid the admission that Peizo- electric
heads can clog. If it is the standard capacity cartridge ( 8ml) they have
been known to contain little ink. They come in JetTec speak as 13ml or the
black Hi-capacity containing 30 ml.
