Epson C84, Should I Get One?

I just got the Epson C82 and the new model, the C84, started appearing in
stores. Are the only differences in the fact that the C84 has two possible
advantages over the C82:

(1) Newer Version of Durabrite Ink. Apparently the formulation is supposed
to last longer than the C82 edition of Durabrite, and have more vibrant
colors. Has this been proven, yet? Also, maybe the droplet size is finer, I
really don't know.

(2) Borderless prints.

Should I dump my C82 and rush out and grab the C84?

3 differences between the C82 and C84 1) by the stats 1350 pages from
the black cart (100 more than a C82).. 2) its a lot a lot less noisier
than the C82 .. 3) has special paper (glossy) for pics. The droplet size
is the same.. As for the colors its somewhat brighter

I too have a C82 and a CX5200 for now I will keep them

I have the C82 out of the box and online. Are you saying the C82 is of
particular concern and a problem, while the new C84 is not a problem?

I have a friend who has had no problems with their C80 and the C82 is an
improvement over the C80. I think that doing proper maintenance like manual
power off rather then plugging into a shared power strip goes a long way to
bypass ink clogging problems.

My c82 clogged up tighter than drum. Warranty took care of it, but if you
don't print alot clogging may be a problem

Not sure what is A lot. I think frequency is more important than quantity.
Of couse, you could have a unit that has problems, thats rue with all
products. But you are right, clogging is a concern and you have to be
proactive to avoid it.

If you "just" got it, I'd return it asap. Epson's clogging problems
are notorious.
