The light is flashing but I there is no sign of which one is empty. The
'bars' are greyed out.

How do I find out ?

As it happens, I ran one of the tests and saw that red, blue and yellow
lines were produced properly. Does this indicate that at least all of the
colours are ok ?

Thanks

on the 82 if you hold the ink button for a few seconds it will slide to a
little point on the left side of the carriage, if you look at the little
pointer it will stop at the cart that is empty ... all this is under the
lid, on the left side

The flashing light doesn't indicate that a cartridge is empty, it is a
warning that a cartridge is getting low. So it isn't surprising that a
nozzle check would show all colors printing.

Doh ! That's what all those pics are under the cover. As you can see, it's
the first time for an ink change.

It looks like I may need two as the magenta is highlighted and when I press
the ink button again it moves to the yellow one.

I still wonder why the bars don't show the levels.

Thanks

Settings / Printers

Main.
It shows the levels on the screen.
Guess why one of them has a yellow warning triangle accross?

Thanks. But I don't even have a 'Main'. If I do a print then I get a
'Main' tab but all of the ink levels (the bars that I mentioned in my OP)
are greyed out and there are no warnings either.

I'm using Epson colour printing system version : 5.43

Thanks

I don't know for this specific printer, but for mine C80 it needed to
install the "ink monitor" separately. Try to find it in the
setup/installation CD.
