Epson C80 Printer Error - Nozzle Check

Try to get printer back to life. Mom's Dell running XP shows, "Nozzle
Check" document? in Queue. The OS had several print jobs stacked in
the queue which I've canceled. There appeared to be 0 print jobs, then
moments later I noticed "Nozzle Check" error in the queue.

Is the fix a software or hardwere issue. I'm guessing when need to
clean printer nozzle?

I know a bit of linux but not Windows.

Take a look at the printer manual for instructions on how to run a cleanup
cycle. If the printer hasn't been running for a while, it probably needs
new printhead(s) and new cartridges. They do clog up easily on Epson units
(or so the folks in alt.comp.periphs.printers report).
