Epson c66 + jet tec carts

My son has bought a set of jet tec carts for his second lot of ink. He
replaced black first, everything was fine. then he replaced magenta
and the printer stopped recognizing both magenta and black. He then
removed the magenta and tried the same with Cyan and yellow and the
printer is fine, it is just when using the magenta that the problem
starts. Is there a get around for this or is it likely there's a
problem with the magenta that cannot be fixed? has anyone had this
problem and got around it?

My suspicion is that the Magenta cartridge is faulty. I have not heard of any
colour specific problems with this series of cartridges.

Yeah, thanks Tony. I bit the bullet yesterday and wrote to the company
who supplied the carts and they said the same thing almost
immediately, now waiting for their returns dept to get in touch but it
was more important to know that this was a fault on the carts more
than a deliberate thing with the printer.
