I have a Epson Artisan 835 AIO. It is connected to my LAN via
wireless router. The network has two XP SP3 machines, plus one
machine with dual boot W7 and XP SP3, plus one W8 machine. The
Artisan prints from all five systems just fine. But scanning will
not work from one of the XP machines. Scanning works fine from the
other XP machine plus all the others.

I have tried re-installing the software package 'epson13778.exe' twice
with no improvement.

Need help

Make sure the Artisan is "on", then on the affected platform, execute...

C:\Windows\twain_32\escndv\escfg.exe

Said 'Scanner1' & 'not found'. The Artisan prints, but will not scan.
On the second XP machine, same effort shows 'Scanner1' &
'192.168.1.3'. And as I said the Artisan prints and scans fine there.
or through the Start Menu

Start --> programs --> epson --> epson scan --> epson scan settings

Let it find and ten test the scanner.

Same result.

Thanks

Problem solved. Turns out the wireless-USB adaptor has a problem. I
replaced it with a CAT5 hard-wire connection to the router, and the
Artisan scan immediately began working.

I had three of these adaptors, of which two now have ceased working.
Thought it was a useful thing to add, but guess not.

Thanks again

What is the Make and Model of the USB WiFi devices ?

Well - the adaptor seems pretty non-descript. Device Manager in the
machine still working with it says:

Ralink Technology, Corp.
802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card
