Epson Action printer 5000+

This dot matrix printer will work with XP. However, it
is extremely s l o w. Apparently is set for only
graphics. Cannot print in draft mode. Is there any
updated driver to enable draft (or at the least, faster)
text printing?
Thanks for any help with this annoying problem.
