It's pretty much the black cartridge. Quite often, sometimes right in
the middle of a print job, the black stops flowing and I need to run
the cleaning utility (sometimes more than once). In the process it has
sucked down 2/3 of my color cartridge, wasting it. Is anyone having
such difficulties in keeping the head clean enough to print? What, if
anything should be done to clean the printer where I imagine all the
color ink is being soaked onto a holding sponge or similar part?
For the moment, with a depleted color cartridge, I'm not replacing it
as I need to print daily work orders out in black. I'll use up the
black (about 20% remaining) and see about putting in new cartridges at
that time. They, as we all know, aren't so cheap as to not care that
the machine is wasting them. I am considering buying a small laser
printer for all my monochrome jobs.
I like the photo output of the Epson, but this wasting of ink is a
problem....
