Greetings

My Epson 890 started oozing ink, covering the printed page with it. I tried
changing cartridges, cables, computers, reinstalled (latest) drivers, to no
avail.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Danny

Hi,

If there's no ink present at the puncturing orifice, where the cartridge
mates the printhead then the problem lies in the head itself and will
probably need to be replaced.
If the ink is seeping at the mating surfaces then attempt to clean up
the area and look for foreign debris that is probably causing the trouble.
Hopefully that will resolve the situation.
I can't speak for the cost of replacing a head on an 890. However, on on
and Epson Color II (from circa 1995)the color printhead alone cost me $60
and it was relatively easy to put in; although I'm told one is supposed to
run software only available from an Epson facility to completely configure
the new head. However, it worked fine without it.
