Epson 777 problem

I have an Epson 777 which has been fine for years.

Since I replaced the black cartridge a week ago, the black has been
printing badly. In fact, it's almost invisible after sitting
overnight unless I run the head-cleaning operation *twice*. At that
point it's almost good, just a little faded. But bad again the next
day.

The other colors are fine.

Is it my printer or perhaps a bad cartridge? How can I tell?

I don't have any advice-just a comment.
You must be good to your printers...I went through my 777 and C80. And
now have a R340.
I really disliked the 777...noisy and paper-feed problems.

How old is the cartridge? and what manufacturer. It sounds like it is one
that has been sitting around for years. Get a fresh one.

There are a number of things that can lead to this condition.

Rather than go into it here, since the discussion is rather lengthy, if
you email me at the email address shown below, I will send you a free
copy of my Epson Cleaning Manual, which provides many descriptions of
causes and solutions.

I don't sell anything on line, and I never trade or sell mailing lists,
and you will only hear from me if you have further questions to ask and
need answers.

If you do make the request, please include the information in your
posting here, so I can give you some direction of where to look within
the manual, since it has become a rather long document. It is in ASCII
text format so it is safe from containing any viruses or malware.
