Epson 3490 copy utility won't talk to my printer.

I have an Epson 3490. The copier utility scans, but never sends the
output to my printer. The printer is an HP LaserJet 6L. OS is Win 98SE.
Epson Tech support suggested a kludge that didn't solve the problem.
They say the problem is with the printer. OK, but the copier utility on
my old UMax Astra worked fine with the same printer.

A search on-line for generic copier utilities only found one which
behaves the same way.

I used my old scanner to make copies more than I used it to scan images.
I paid $100 for a new scanner and lost the ability to make copies!

Can anyone suggest a work-around?

Hi Scott...

Sure, couldn't be easier. Just scan whatever it is your scanning into
any image processing software via the twain driver, then print it as
a wholly separate operation.

A side benefit that by the way makes it all worthwhile is that it gives
you the opportunity to tweak your scan before printing.

Take care.

I was hoping not to go that route, but, yes, it will work. A little more
digging turned up a generic copier utility that talks to both my scanner
and my printer. I found Photocopier Pro at TwoCows.com.

Now if I can figure out a good way to deal with the 5mm unscannable area
around the edge of the glass, this will be a great scanner.
