Does anyone have any experience with solving a paper feed problem on a 3000?

Is there a deep reset for this machine ?

Sometimes the paper picks up and loads correctly and sometimes it just feeds
thro without a print.

The 3000 is a rather complex beast, with many paper sensors involved.
Does this problem only occur when using the front tray or with rear
feeding as well?

Does it occur with all types of paper, or only certain surfaces or lengths?

A relatively common problem with Epson printers that get a lot of use
with coated inkjet papers is their pick up wheels get glazed and need a
good cleaning. This can be done with rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs.

If the printer has problems with sequencing the paper arrival to the
sensors during loading, due to slippage, they often send the paper right
through leaving it with no printing. Try cleaning the take up paper
rollers well and see if that resolves the problem.
