Everybody who has ever scanned film with a 2450 will know the problem.
The film holders are a bad joke and the film, heated and dried out by
the heat from the transparency lightsource, winds itself out of the
holder. This is particularly bad with the MF/4x5 holder where the scan
times are long enough that the film can move around a lot during the
eternity it takes to complete a single scan.
Now, I've just got myself the equivalent holder from the 3200 which is
fitted with a frame to securely clamp the film strip down to hold it
flat and prevent it from moving during the scanning process. What a
difference!!!
Bought it from one of the two official suppliers of Epson spare parts,
here in Germany, and paid a mere 11 euros, P&P included!
Sometimes one is left wondering why one hasn't thought of such simple
solutions much earlier....
