Hi!
I"ve used the 2450 scanner with Windows 98SE and it worked
perfectly.
The 2450 was installed on an XP PRO. The software download went
well.
But with the "Welcome to the found new hardware wizard" even though
the 2450 does not have "Windows Logo testing" and I clicked on
"continue anyway" the message "cannot install this hardware, anerror
occured during installation...The class installer has denied request to
install..." appeared.
Help!!
Thanks,
Leon

It is probably the software on your CD, There is a note in the product
brochure.
Note: Windows XP drivers available after release

Download and install the latest software from Epson for the 2450.
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/...V_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14558&infoType=Overview

Under Drivers and Downloads, click on Windows.
Get TWAIN Driver v5.71A (Rev.F)

Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Leon

You must be logged as administrator to install the software. And you should
have done the latest Windows update and gotten the Windows installer
updated.

If you have the Windows installer Version 3 or later, you are up to date.
Start > Run > type msiexec.exe <ENTER> You will get a window with the
Installer version number as the first line. Click OK to close.

It you still can not got the software to install, I would download it again,
you may have gotten a bad download. (It does happen!)

Also, something may have gotten corrupted during the install that was not
able to be deleted during the uninstall, so you may need to manually clean
out leftover files before trying a reinstall. There used to be a cleaning
applet on the newsoftinc.com website that would help with the cleanout.
Additionally, you might try to delete the broken preview-file.(FULL.BMP) in
the directory `C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\EPSON\ESCNDV\ES0030` if this is on your system. It is a file that gets
corrupted and causes problems.

Hi Guys!
I got it to work! I reverted the computer to the day before I
initially insalled the software. Then I reinstalled it in the Safe
Mode. And voila it works.Could someone explain what the safe mode has
to do with this?
Thanks y'all
All the best,
Leon

Safe mode does not load any of the extra 'stuff', drivers and virus scanners
and the like.
It boots the computer in it's most basic mode.

If you try to run some of your normal software in Safe mode, you will find
that few features are supported.

Thanks y'all

Hi!
To clarify; I loaded the C.D. in the safe mode, but the scanner is
used in the normal mode and it works perfectly.
