Hi all,

Anyone else had trouble persuading the Epson 2400 to recognise slides? I had
the problem a month ago, and no amount of unplugging the TPU, the scanner,
uninstalling & reinstalling the software would help. Epson support were no
help. I eventually discovered that when uninstalling it was not removing the
registry entries, so I removed them and everything then seemed to be OK.
Last week for the first time I scanned a few magazine pages before sending
the mag to someone and I've now got the problem back. No matter what I do,
it will not recognise slides. If I change the film type to color negative it
works.

Any ideas? I have v1.23 of the s/w, athlon 2600/256mb, at least 80gb of hd
space.

TIA

Paul

Yes, Get out of Auto mode and go to Pro mode.
Pick your own cropping.
Make sure the TPU is plugged in before turning on the scanner.
Choose transparency mode. Choose positive color film.

Also, make sure nothing is obstructing the little calibration notch at the
top of your holder.

EPSON Twain 5 - Go to the Configuration button and select the Preview
tab. Deselect the Thumbnail preview option.
EPSON Scan - In the Professional mode click on the drop down arrow to
the right of the Preview button and select Normal.

Both these options disable the automatic thumbnailing and allow the
scanner to scan the full area under the overhead light source.
Remember to use your own Marquee or the exposure will be incorrect.
