Has anyone had success using the Epson Photo 2200 on mylar film? The Epson
web site doesn't have any film recommended for the printer, and when I use
3m inkjet mylar the quality is bad and somewhat smeared.

thanks, Tom

Sounds like too much ink is going down. Do you have a backlight film print
setting? That might help, though it might also mirror flip the image too. But
it might be worth a try. You could also try the plain paper setting, or maybe
720dpi paper setting.

2200 printer uses pigmented inks that are more difficult to dry and bind on
films. Try some types of film, I suggest to use HP films because HP printers
use pigmented black ink too. I have heard that they work well with pigmented
inks.

Not on my 2100. The rollers lift off the wet ink. Someone suggested lifting
the output rollers (which are on springs) using a plastic strip like a cable
tie. I haven't tried this though.

I've also tried Decal paper with similar/mixed results. Same paper in my
HP895cxi (dye ink) printer worked great.

Try using one of the films that has a thin gelatine coating intended
for use with inkjets. Since I assume you're only printing 8X10 maybe
you'd be better off getting an inexpensive printer for this purpose.
