Epson 2200 & Museo 13x19 = strange problem

For your information:

My 2200 does not want to print normally with Crane's Museo 13x19
paper, it often cuts off printing the left half of the sheet
(sometimes the left 1/4); not a smear or blur, a sharp, uniform,
cutoff, as if the printer had a different size paper set.

Printing from Photoshop 4.0, Win 2K, on an AMD 1600+ machine. The
image file size may be 13x19, 11x17 or 12x18 (my tests), and the
printer driver is set for 13x19 paper. File mode may be RGB, gray or
duotone, printed as color or black only. Several different files were
tested, all gave the same results.

I've done all kinds of tests and made 4 calls to Epson support, but
they don't believe that the printer can do this. The problem does not
occur with Epson 13x19 paper, 11x17 paper, 8.5x11 paper and not all
sheets of Museo give the same reaction, either, though they are all
from the same box.

The Museo paper is about 1/8 inch wider than Epson EEM and when I trim
that much off the Museo sheet that had the most problems, it seems to
work OK (I've only done about 10 tests, so far, so it might still
recur, but I could not get 2 good runs out of that sheet before).

I'm wondering if the wider paper has tripped something in the printer
that forces it into one of the roll paper sizes despite all the driver
settings. Epson techs insist that this is impossible; I think they
don't actually believe that it is happening.

Good luck with yours,

Frank

Don't know about the 2200 but the 2000P has a slider under the lid that is
for thicker paper or envelopes. Good luck, Dave
