My PC has two OS's, Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 2000 Server. It also
has an Adaptec AIC-7850 SCSI card to which the Epson 1640SU scanner is
attached.
The Epson Twain driver works just fine under Windows 2000 Server but
will NOT work under Windows 2000 Pro. In Paint Shop Pro when I try to
acquire an image it does nothing. At least Corel Photo-Paint pops up an
error dialog saying something like "Unable to negotiate capabilites of
Twain".
I've tried both Twain versions available at Epson, with the same result.
I've gone thru every troubleshooting guide I could find. Everything
looks good on the install, it just doesn't work.
It can safely be said that this is not a hardware problem.
Can anyone shed some light on this mystery?
Thanks for your help.
